Custom Orthotics
Here at Hodson Bay Orthotics we specialise in the manufacture of custom made orthotic insoles in order to treat a wide variety of conditions.
Insoles help to stabilise and correct poor foot and ankle posture and can be designed to fit in many styles/types of shoe including slim fitting shoes. Poor foot biomechanics can lead to localised pain in the foot and ankle, as well as problems in the lower limbs, knees, hips and back.
We use the Sharp Shape 3D scanning system to take a precise copy of the sole of the foot. We can also take measures using a foam impression box or by taking a plaster cast.

Types of Custom Orthotics
Functional Foot Orthoses (FFO)
FFOs are custom insoles with specific added corrections and are used to alter abnormal foot and lower limb function. They help to support and realign the joints and also provide increased shock absorption.
Total Contact Insoles (TCI)
TCIs are used where a foot abnormality is fixed and cannot be corrected. The custom insoles are usually made of a soft cushioning material and are used to cushion and redistribute pressures on the soles of the feet making them ideal for diabetic patients among others. Our custom made insoles follow the contours of your feet.
